Who We Are

Friends of the Calaveras County Library (FOTCCL) exists to promote the services offered by our community libraries — actively working to provide support for each of the eight branches in the county system.

Friends give financial aid in the form of funds raised by book sales, special events, recycling, donations from our members, and more...

Friends volunteer their time to serve as board members, organize events, and help behind the scenes at library branches.

More Ways to Easily Support Your libraries

  • Give Materials. Donate gently used books and DVDs at your local branch; and don’t forget to shop our shelves: proceeds from the sale of used materials helps Friends of the Library to buy new titles for your libraries.

  • Donate a magazine or newspaper subscription to your local branch.

  • Fundraisers attend FOTCCL and branch library fundraisers.

  • Fill out an official volunteer application to help at the Library in your area.

  • Shop, Shop, Shop! Sign up for a Community Card with Sierra Hills Market (Murphys), Angels Food Market (Angels Camp), or Mar-Val (Valley Springs), and designate ‘Friends of the Calaveras County Library’ as your beneficiary.

  • Monetary Donations. Cash donations are always welcome, and tax deductible! You could also choose to make a memorial contribution, or contribution in honor of a special person or occasion. Or, you might remember the Friends in your estate planning .
