Chalkboard Wall Project

MHFOTL is excited to share our latest artful addition. Oodles of Doodles this month introduces

our chalkboard wall! On the north side (facing Shutter Tree Park) of the back deck, you will

find a huge chalkboard and a mailbox containing many colors of chalk. All ages are encouraged

to get creative and have some artful fun. There are a couple of rules we need you to follow.

1. If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

2. Your chalk drawing needs to be kept on the chalkboard only. Please don't draw on any other

surface as some chalk colors stain and do not come off.

3. Put the chalk back in the mailbox when you are done. The chalkboard gets wiped clean once

a week but you may also wipe clean an area to work if the board is already full of art.

In 1985, cuts in the County budget resulted in the closure of several library branches. Our situation changed in 1996 when Mokelumne Hill resident Theresa Moore, aged 99, passed away and left monies to bring a library back to Mokelumne Hill. The community raised $127,875 more in donations for computers, and other supplies. June 1999 was our grand re-opening.
