The Friends of the Calaveras County Library were established in 1986 and have raised over $1,000,000 for the library as of 2019.

 

Currently over 150 community members contribute annually to the Friends, and nearly 35 of these contributors actively volunteer their time to assist the group with fundraising efforts that include an annual Trivia Bee and a used book sale held every spring. The Nielsen Family donated almost ½ million dollars to the Friends of the Calaveras County Library.
